Altovise Laster, Chorus Manager

Ms. Laster holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theater Performance from Florida International University as well as a Master of Science Degree in Special Education from the City College of New York. She has taught classes in acting, dance, humanities, special education, literature, and film.

In her most recent position, she served as Teen Leader Coordinator of Girls Quest in Wyndham, New York – an organization that nurtures girls to help them achieve their full potential and become active members of their communities by building academic and social competence. In that role, she developed a leadership curriculum for teens, coordinated daily activities of program participants, and supervised and evaluated program leaders.

As our Chorus Manager, Ms. Laster is responsible for the administrative aspects of the Girl Choir. She will work closely with the Board of Trustees, the Artistic Director, and all of our staff members and volunteers.

Eric Peterson, Marketing and IT Specialist

Eric Peterson brings to the Girl Choir his extensive experience as a choir volunteer. He is the husband of Wallis Peterson, the Artistic Director of the Girl Choir. In addition to serving as Secretary of the Board of Directors, he is responsible for marketing and information technology.

Since moving to South Florida in 1990, Mr. Peterson has served as a volunteer, supporting the choirs directed by Mrs. Peterson, including South Broward High School, First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale, The Blake School, and Florida’s Singing Sons Boychoir.

Mr. Peterson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Florida State University in 1990. He has over 20 years of professional software engineering experience and currently serves as a Software Engineer with Research in Motion -- creator of the BlackBerry brand of mobile devices -- in Sunrise, Florida.
