Ensembles

Overview

The Girl Choir of South Florida consists of four ensembles:

Each chorister’s individual level of skill, experience, and maturity determines her ensemble placement.

Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers – our premiere performing and touring ensemble – is a select subset of our Concert Choir. Membership is by invitation of the artistic staff.

Concert Choir

The Concert Choir is comprised of experienced singers who have demonstrated excellence in music literacy and vocal development. The Concert Choir offers choristers the opportunity to excel in music literacy skills while performing a diverse, high-quality repertoire.

Membership in the Concert Choir is based upon a chorister’s vocal development, understanding of music theory, and demonstrated commitment to the Girl Choir program. Admission to Concert Choir is available only through promotion from Apprentice Choir.

Choristers perform in our major concert events at the end of each semester as well as for community and corporate events. Tours and festivals in the late spring or early summer complement the Concert Choir’s schedule.

Apprentice Choir

The Apprentice Choir is our intermediate performing ensemble. Membership in the Apprentice Choir is based upon a chorister’s vocal development, understanding of music theory, and demonstrated commitment to the Girl Choir program. Membership in Apprentice Choir is by audition or through promotion from Primes Choir.

In the Apprentice Choir, girls continue their vocal development while learning more advanced theory, sight-singing skills, and choreography skills.

Apprentice Choir choristers perform in our major concert events at the end of each semester as well as for community and corporate events. Apprentice Choir members also participate in a mini-tour each spring.

Primes Choir

The Primes Choir is our beginning performing ensemble. Membership in Primes Choir is by audition.

Primes Choir choristers perform in our major concert events at the end of each semester.
