The Concert Choir was accepted to participate in the 2010 Crescent City Choral Festival, hosted by the New Orleans Children’s Chorus. The festival clinicians were Cheryl Dupont of the NOCC and Dr. David Brunner of the University of Central Florida. In addition to taking an educational and historical tour of the city, our choristers presented a joint concert with choristers and alumni of the NOCC, performed for patients in a local children’s hospital, assisted with humanitarian relief efforts in the city, and sang as part of the massed choir in the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral.

The Girl Choir of South Florida is honored to have been invited to be part of the Pacific International Children’s Choir Festival, held in conjunction with the Oregon Bach Festival. Members of our Concert Choir performed in a mass choir with other choral groups from around the world under the direction of Sandra Snow, Associate Professor of Music Education and Choral Conducting at Michigan State University. Our choristers also performed selections of their spring concert Seasons of Love as part of the “Sharing Our Songs” exchange of music with other participating choirs. The Festival was held on the beautiful campus setting of the University of Oregon, at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, and at nearby churches in Eugene.

The Girl Choir of South Florida toured and brought its music to downtown New York City, singing at the world-renouned St. Paul’s Church and Trinity Church as well as for the patients of Goldwater Memorial. In addition to seeing the famous historical sights and Broadway musicals, the girls also performed on stage with the Harlem Gospel Choir as well as for the patrons of the Starlight Diner.

Our Concert Choir worked together with choirs from across North America in the Children in Harmony festival. The combined choir performed under the direction of Barbara Tagg for the guests of Epcot Center and premiered a work by noted composer Stephen Paulus .
