The Girl Choir of South Florida is honored to have been invited to be part of the Pacific International Children's Choir Festival, held in conjunction with the Oregon Bach Festival. Members of our Concert Choir performed in a mass choir with other choral groups from around the world under the direction of Sandra Snow, Associate Professor of Music Education and Choral Conducting at Michigan State University. Our choristers also performed selections of their spring concert Seasons of Love as part of the "Sharing Our Songs" exchange of music with other participating choirs. The Festival was held on the beautiful campus setting of the University of Oregon, at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, and at nearby churches in Eugene.
Founded in 1998, the annual PICCFEST is presented by the Oregon Festival Choirs in cooperation with the Grammy-Award-winning Oregon Bach Festival orchestra.

The featured work was A Little Jazz Mass by Bob Chicott, which is a modern jazz arrangement of the movements of a traditional Catholic Latin mass. |
