Assistant Director
Naija Murphy is thrilled to be joining the Girl Choir of South Florida as Assistant Director in the Fall of 2026. Having joined the choir during the second year of its inception, she quickly discovered a lifelong love of choral music and the community she found within it. Returning in a leadership role is a meaningful full-circle moment, and she is honored to help inspire the next generation of singers.
Naija earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a certificate in Music Business and Technology from Converse College, a historic women’s college during her attendance. While at Converse, she studied voice, performing with the Converse College Chorale on scholarship, and deepened her passion for music, performance, and community engagement.
Naija remained in the Carolinas for several years before returning home to South Florida in 2022. Since then, she has served as the elementary music teacher at Endeavour Primary Learning Center, sharing her love of music with young learners through singing, movement, and creativity.
Most recently, Naija earned her Master of Arts in Live Entertainment Management from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music in the Spring of 2026.
As both an educator and arts administrator, Naija is passionate about creating meaningful musical experiences that foster confidence, creativity, and belonging. She is excited to return to the organization that nurtured her own musical journey and looks forward to supporting the Girl Choir of South Florida’s mission while helping young singers grow as musicians, leaders, and individuals.
